ハワイ豊見城市村人会との覚書の締結について

令和7年（2025年）は、沖縄県からハワイへの移民が始まって125周年、そしてハワイ豊見城村人会の結成90周年を迎える記念すべき年です。

The year 2025 marks the 125th anniversary of Okinawan immigration to Hawaii and the 90th anniversary of the founding of the Tomigusuku Sonjin Kai of Hawaii—a truly momentous occasion. 

本市はこの節目の年に、8月29日から9月4日にかけてハワイ州ホノルル市で開催されたハワイ沖縄移民125周年記念事業に参加し、ハワイ沖縄連合会やハワイ豊見城村人会をはじめとする多くの関係者と交流を深めました。

To mark this milestone year, our city visited Honolulu, Hawaii, from August 29^th to September 4^th. During our visit, we participated in events commemorating the 125^th anniversary of Okinawan immigration to Hawaii, and interacted with many stakeholders, including the Hawaii United Okinawa Association and the Tomigusuku Sonjin Kai of Hawaii.

9月2日にはホノルル市において、ハワイ豊見城村人会と「友好交流及び相互交流に関する覚書」の締結を行いました。この覚書は今後、両者の連携強化に大きく貢献すると期待しています。

On September 2nd, we signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on friendship and mutual cooperation with the Tomigusuku Sonjin Kai of Hawaii in Honolulu. This MOU is expected to significantly contribute to strengthening cooperation between our two entities in the years to come.
